Tired of lifting your phone in the air to get coverage when in a party or camping in the wilderness? Well…here is a brand new way to communicate outdoors. The gotenna mesh is a device that allows you to communicate with other users who has a gotenna mesh device without coverage in the area.

How does it do it? The gotenna mesh is a stick-like device that uses a private mesh network….absolutely no service provider needed. It allows for point to point communication and by having many gotenna users between yourself and the person you are communicating to…you will able to hop through users (via the shortest possible distance) which can extend the long range via the mesh network. It is able to send text messages, locations and maps but not voice and images. The device is paired via Bluetooth to your smartphone which goes along with a gotenna App to provide the interface for communicating. The battery life lasts about a day and it is indicated by the app…just recharge it and you are ready to go on your adventure.

The gotenna mesh is an essential survival gear to have in cases of outdoor camping or when there are natural disaster occurrences. The more users there are….the longer the range is…so imagine the possibilities when there are so much users that you can roam for free while travelling by taking advantage of the mesh network….awesome. Though it’s a bit pricey, it does come in a pair and can really pull you out of a predicament when there is no signal in the area. In my opinion it’s still a great device to have and I give this a 4/5 star rating.
